Q. What exactly does Beauty Selection do, and what are its plans for the future?
We are a brand company that operates in fields where we can deeply engage with individual lifestyles. Currently, we manage 14 brands across the beauty, health supplements, fashion, and lifestyle sectors, focusing primarily on the influencer commerce market.
Our ongoing plans are as follows: (1) Expanding into new domestic and international markets and sales channels (2) Launching new brands in existing markets (3) Introducing Tech & Data technologies and building our own platform to execute points 1 and 2 more effectively
Q. In the commerce market, there are many large corporations and unicorn startups. As a challenger, what differentiates Beauty Selection from others?
We can explain our differentiation with three main elements:
(1) We create products that are recommendable to others through thorough planning, raw material sourcing, and production processes, and we fully introduce the considerations and advantages of these products during the sales stage. Ultimately, we operate our business based on the relationship and trust established with consumers.
(2) From the early stages of the business, we have used Data setup to clearly identify Beauty Selection's strengths and weaknesses and improve our operations. We place significant importance on Data operations, with our own in-house Data team, and are committed to a Data-driven culture.
(3) While we are confident in our ability to launch and manage our own brands, each brand targets different customers and has unique product characteristics and strengths. Beauty Selection operates a 'brand aggregator' model, actively collaborating with and even acquiring such brands to enhance market dominance.
Based on these strengths, we have achieved exceptional metrics, including a 68% repurchase rate, 550,000 accumulated customers, and a 201% increase in annual transaction volume.
Q. What do you envision Beauty Selection will look like 10 years from now?
Our core goal is to operate a brand that customers actively seek out, based on deep relationships and trust. Subsequently, we aim for all of Beauty Selection's brands to establish themselves in various markets and fields, becoming a new type of global brand group that didn't exist before.
Q. What is Beauty Selection most concerned about?
As the organization grows and the areas we cover expand, we are most cautious about losing the product quality and customer-obsessed approach that drive Beauty Selection's growth.

About the recruitment process

Q. What is the process from applying to joining Beauty Selection?
The process is as follows: Document screening > First-round practical interview > Second-round leadership interview > Final acceptance.
For some positions, the process may include different evaluations such as coding tests or assignments.
Q. How can I submit my documents? Is a portfolio required?
You can submit your application either through the recruitment site or directly via the recruiting team’s email (people@beautyselection.co.kr). Please send your resume including basic personal information (name, contact details, email) to the recruiting team’s email. (However, please exclude personal and sensitive information such as place of origin, marital status, family details, and salary )
For some positions, a portfolio is required. For other positions, if you have additional materials such as portfolios, websites, blogs, GitHub, Notion, etc., that could be helpful in the document screening process, please attach them as well (Please ensure that the URL is set to public before attaching it).
Q. How is the document review process conducted? Will I be notified if I am not selected?
Applications are reviewed individually by the relevant practitioners in the field. Regardless of the outcome, all candidates will be notified of the results via email and KakaoTalk message
Q. How can I confirm that my application has been submitted successfully
Confirmation of receipt is provided via KakaoTalk notification message or email. If you receive a confirmation message/email after submitting your documents, it means your application has been submitted successfully, so there is no need to worry. If you do not receive a confirmation message/email, please contact us at people@beautyselection.co.kr."
Q. How long does the process from submitting the application to final acceptance typically take? Also, how long does each stage of the process usually take?
We aim to provide feedback on document review and the results of each stage within one week. Consequently, the entire process—from submitting your application to the two rounds of interviews and final acceptance following compensation negotiations—typically takes about a month. However, we try to accommodate applicants' circumstances as much as possible, so please feel free to let us know if you have any concerns.
Q. I have passed the document screening! Is it possible to have the interview after work or via a virtual (video) interview?
For the convenience of applicants, we have conducted interviews after 6 PM in some cases The interview process typically includes a virtual interview for the first round and an in-person interview for the second round. (Please note that the format of the interview may change depending on the situation. )
The video interview is conducted via Google Meet. To ensure a smooth interview, please refer to the video interview preparation guide provided with the interview schedule and perform audio/camera functionality tests and connectivity checks in advance.
Q. What is the order of the interview process? What is the atmosphere like?
Generally, the process consists of a first interview with 1 to 2 employees and a second interview with a leader. Upon arrival at the interview, there will be a brief introduction to the office, followed by an interview lasting about an hour. (However, depending on the position, the process may vary, and you can receive details in advance from the recruiter )
At Beauty Selection, we view the interview process as a comfortable discussion where both parties can talk about specific topics on an equal footing. Rather than a formal evaluation session, it’s a chance for you to share your thoughts and experiences, and for us to discuss how we can mutually benefit as colleagues and as an organization
Q. What are the main topics discussed during the interview?
There are four common points I would like to mention:

Reason for Applying: Why you are interested in Beauty Selection.
2.
Desired Role: What kind of work you would like to do at Beauty Selection in relation to the position you applied for.
3.
Connection Between Desired Work and Previous Experience: What is the link between the work you want to do and your existing experience? → It would be helpful to prepare your responses based on your actual experiences and examples
4.
Thoughts and Values Related to the Position or Experience: Any additional thoughts, values, or perspectives regarding the position you are applying for or your previous experience.
Q. Is it possible to reapply even if I have a history of rejection?
Yes, it is possible. However, if you are reapplying for the same position, it can only be done 6 months after you received the final result. If you are applying for a different position, you can apply at any time, and there are no disadvantages for reapplying.
Q. I have received the final acceptance offer! What will the next steps be?
Thank you for your hard work! We will now move on to the compensation negotiation stage. If the negotiations are successfully completed, we will discuss the start date. Q. What are the conditions and compensation system at the time of hiring and in the future?
At the hiring stage, the process will proceed individually for each applicant after final acceptance, and the conditions will be negotiated considering various factors such as internal band, market conditions, and existing待遇 (treatment). After joining the company, compensation will be applied based on the company’s internal regulations and policies as well as individual performance.

About corporate culture and systems

Q. Are there any systems in place to help new hires adapt?
We have various systems in place to support the successful integration of new hires. We operate various systems and initiatives to help you adapt to the atmosphere and methods of Beauty Selection, including an onboarding bootcamp to enhance your understanding of the industry, company, and organization; a buddy system where you are matched with a buddy for regular monthly tea times and meals to aid your adaptation; and one-on-one onboarding meetings with leaders.
Q. What is the overall company culture and working style like?
Basically, we address each other as 'Mr./Ms. [Name]' and approach each issue from various angles in a horizontal atmosphere. We collaborate with the mindset that 'my opinion can always be wrong.'
While there are many 'good-to-do' tasks, we prioritize 'must-do' tasks first. Our decision-making criteria are based on facts and data, and we strive to eliminate any factors that may hinder the best decisions.
Q. What is the team structure and size? Also curious about the colleagues I will be working with.
Teams vary in size, ranging from 2-3 members to over 10 members. Currently, Beauty Selection has about 140 employees who work in a respectful and considerate manner. The organization is comprised of individuals with impressive careers, experiences, and a burning passion.
During the interview stage, we can provide detailed answers regarding the team, team members, and the tasks associated with the position.
Q. What are the overall work processes and tools used?
In our work processes, we utilize Slack, Notion, Google Workspace, and our own custom-built data board.
Depending on the type and nature of the work, we comfortably discuss matters in Slack channels and proceed with follow-up tasks with the relevant stakeholders.
